School Dinners

Chartwells are our catering provider here at Wootton Community Primary School.  

We are proud to work with Chartwells for your children’s school dinners. Chartwells believe that the key to fuelling young minds comes from understanding both what they need and what they enjoy, which is why they develop nutritious and delicious food that pupils love, alongside helping to ensure a healthy body and mind. Their passionate culinary experts work closely with us to ensure every child receives healthy food, perfectly suited to meet their needs and dietary requirements.

The current meal price is £2.92. Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to universal infant free school meals. Children in Key Stage 2 will be charged for a school dinner unless they are in receipt of free school meals.

How to order a school dinner:

Your child will be asked every morning whether they are having a school dinner or a packed lunch. If they are having a school dinner, they will complete a dinner slip and hand it to the teacher. This will then go to the kitchen staff to be prepared.

If you believe your child is entitled to Free School Meals, please visit www.iow.gov.uk/schools-and-education/schools/free-school-meals/

If you are unable to register online, please complete the form below and return it to school.

Medical Diets:

For children with food intolerances and allergies, Chartwells have a dedicated team of medical diet nutritionists on hand to support allergen aware children and their parents. More information on their medical diet process can be found here: The Chartwells Approach to Medical Diets | Chartwells

Please submit the completed request form and supporting medical evidence to the school office, who will pass them onto the Chartwells medical diets team. Once the Chartwells medical diets team have received all the information they need, they will prepare a medical diet menu.
